ASQ Nation requires that each ASQ Section submit a business plan each year - this activity is called Quality Management Process and part of the Section Leadership planning done each year. Just as in any business plan, it is intended to drive performance excellence and it is linked to ASQ National Goals and Objectives relative to:

  • Increase Impact - support mission and membership, establish ASQ as leader in social responsibility movement
  • Grow Membership - grow the number of organizations served, grow membership, engage members
  • Increase Customer Loyalty - improve retention, enhance value and relevance of ASQ’s Quality Body of Knowledge
  • Grow Means - optimize pricing relative to opportunities and business conditions, leverage ASQ’s position in professional certification and standards, achieve a balanced budget
  • Process Performance - Improve process performance use technology to enable community, value delivery, and business intelligence; improve business processes using Baldrige architecture and other quality methodologies
  • People - Increase workforce engagement  - right resources, staff and member leaders
Awards
ASQ recognizes member units for results-based performance through two awards.
 
Quality Excellence Award
Achieved when a member unit meets QMP Level 1 and 2; and one, two, or three of the Society's objectives in member retention, loyalty and satisfaction.
 
Total Quality/J.S McDermond Total Quality Award
Achieved when a member unit reaches at least 75% of the goals set forth in its annual business plan from the previous year. The Quality Management  Process - Business Plan encourages each section to measure, address, and improve your members' satisfaction.
